The Great Lakes Outdoors Foundation held its first of two Ladies CPL Classes funded by a grant from the MCRGO Civil Defense Fund. The grant allowed GLOF to teach up to 50 ladies the Michigan CPL Course free of charge.

The grant also covered the cost of all the ammo, pre training prior to the class, lunch, the cost of the CPL permit at the County Clerk, and a $100 gift Certificate at Silver Bullet Firearms and Training Center in Wyoming, Mi (silverbulletfirearms.com). The GLOF Training Team of Lee Zeidler and Gary VanderMeulen (NRA Instructors) and Attorney Steve Dulan trained 28 ladies on August 22nd at the Caledonia Sportsmans Club.

The remainder of the ladies, (22) are scheduled for October 17th. The grant provided about $550 in value for each lady, allowing them to obtain their Concealed Pistol License free of charge, and a down payment on a personal defense handgun.

The class was a success, the ladies really enjoyed themselves, and lots of ladies accessories were on hand for them to try in addition to a dozen different handguns for them to try on the range.
