GLOF Receives Grant for Hunts!

Announcement for Great Lakes Outdoors Foundation, Hunts funded.

The Great Lakes Outdoors Foundation (GLOF) has received a grant from the Shaw and Betty Walker Foundation recently that will allow GLOF to take some people out into the field for their first hunting experience this year. Plans are to take 3 groups of youths (high school aged kids) on a pheasant hunt in Michigan later in the spring or early fall this year. Each group will be 4 to 6 youths, and GLOF will supply everything from a shotgun lesson to the all the costs associated with the hunt, including a mentor hunter for the day. Also, we will be taking 2 to 4 adult women on a Wild Boar or Deer Management hunt with a crossbow in Michigan. Again, it will be paid for by GLOF. The idea behind these hunts is to get people out into the outdoors, and let them experience hunting in a semi-controlled environment where they can be successful, and experience hunting for the first time. These hunts will take place between early spring, and late fall of this year. If you are interested in your child attending a hunt, or wish to be a mentor, contact GLOF at lee@grloutdoors.org for more information.

Please inquire as to how you can donate or assist in our programs.
