2nd Annual
GLOF Kids Event in Gladwin at
Sugar Springs Sporting Clays and Shooting Preserve

Here's the information from last year's event:

What a great event and facility! GLOF Executive Director and Treasurer went to Gladwin to cover this event on a nice Saturday and the turnout was about 150 kids!

The weather cooperated, and so did the kids. This was a free event for any kid that signed up, and parents had to attend with them. The different events provided the kids with a great all around experience to the outdoors, shooting archery and other events.

The event was put on by the Sugar Springs Shooting Preserve, and the Ogemaw Hills Gobblers NWTF Chapter. Karen Dillion President of the NWTF Chapter organized the event. The event consisted of several stations the kids went through, from Shotgun Shooting, Sporting Clays, Turkey Sight in, Fishing, Archery, Orienteering, Making a Turkey Call, Air Rifle Shooting, and making their own lunch.

Donors were generous with food, drinks and props, and the local NWTF Chapter held a fundraiser shoot earlier in the year to pay for the ammo. Sugar Springs Sporting Clays donated the clays, and use of the facility.

This is a great facility, during the season they hunt pheasants, and have a nice Sporting Clays field by appointment.
